They are the market leading UK based specialist vape and e-cigarette retailer. They currently have over 150 stores across the UK with more store openings on the way. They are looking for an experienced Head of IT to join their growing business.

Main Responsibilities:
- Undertaking high level technical projects & design oversight for multiple departmental stakeholders within the business, from Retail PoS systems to Production, warehouse & inventory management systems
- Leading a team with varying levels of IT knowledge and backgrounds to deliver day-to-day IT support functions, as well as delivering projects that aide the various functions of the business and its departments
- Understanding and having a good working knowledge of retail and supply chain business requirements and inter-dependant systems
- Responsible for the design, execution and implementation of technical projects and applications, and delivering them in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Being the main focal point for each stakeholder, with the ability to deliver a technical roadmap to an audience of varying levels of technical knowledge & expertise
- Identifying strategic opportunities for growth through technology & supporting the development of the technological roadmap
- Delivering key information to Directors & Stakeholders in regularly chaired meetings

The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven track record in delivering large scale technological projects, from web development, to mobile and/or desktop-based applications (>10 years)
- Proven track record as a Head of IT previously, or at a similar level
- Experience working on integration technologies, cloud platforms, information security, and a solid understanding of API design and frameworks, API gateways, API security & auditing etc.
- Hands-on experience in delivery frameworks - Agile & Waterfall
- Degree in either Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Design & Development, Engineering or Mathematics
- Proven track record of leading a diverse team of varying expertise and skill level in delivering projects
- High level of knowledge, competence and experience in network security & infrastructure, encryption & data retention policies, as well as data protection requirements and safe data storage & processing
- Knowledge & hands-on experience in web application frameworks and database management systems, including SQL, MSQL & Python
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts
- The ability to show proficient time & people management

Reward:
- Salary up to £60,000 depending on experience
