Our established business provides a reliable, safe, compliant, and cost-effective bulk haulage solution for businesses within the construction industry in the South East. We are part of a family owned and expanding company, with a number of associated businesses covering sectors including recycling, quarries, and aggregates.
Now, as part of our succession planning process to take us to the next level of future growth, we are looking to appoint an experienced and qualified Transport Director to lead that development growth.
About the role:

• A full-time permanent role, based at our Head Office in Kent, which will require your presence there as a key member of the senior management team.

About you:
• An experienced senior level professional within the haulage/transport/logistics sector, with a proven and demonstrable career track record showing a strategic mindset. Strong interpersonal skills, and proven commercial acumen.
• Your expertise will reflect the fact that efficient budget management is a key part of the role, with profit and loss responsibility. You’ll hold negotiating responsibility for all of our fleet, from the tyres upwards and will full strategic management of this fleet.
• Ideally, you will hold Membership of the C I L T, a Certificate of Professional Competence for Transport Managers, and a degree or equivalent qualification in logistics / transport management.
• As a member of the senior management team, you will have the ability to negotiate, influence and communicate effectively and hold a good awareness of corporate functions, a strong business development background, the ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and strong report writing and data analysis skills. A thorough knowledge of the relevant transport legislation and regulatory requirements is essential.
• Able to fulfil the practical demands of the role, both in terms of Head Office attendance and at the other operational sites as required.
